We have been collecting food for a food drive. Rotary District 5340 has been challenged by the Lions Club of San Diego and Imperial Counties to collect food items for local food banks in San Diego and Imperial Counties. The challenge will continue through November. DG Chuck Pretto would like clubs to gather donated food item, weigh it and let the district know the total weight amount and then proceed to drop it off at a collection site. At the end of the month, we will compare the amount of food we donate versus what the Lion's come up with for a friendly competition. Thanks to our member Pauline for loading up the food in her somewhat newish SUV. She and member Karen reported that we have so far collected 264 pounds of food!!
